The extension, outreach and education professionals have launched an effort to help coastal communities prepare for the impacts of climate change. This initiative is helping communities develop strategies to address coastal inundation, sea-level rise, drought, more frequent and intense coastal storms and other impacts associated with climate change. These projects provide communities with credible science-based information to help them consider alternatives more informed decisions and ultimately develop and implement customized solutions for local climate-change impacts.
NOAA’s National Coastal Data Development Center and NOAA's Gulf Coast Service Center has developed Gulf of Mexico Climate Adaptation Inventory which serves as a single location to upload and access information about Climate research within the region. The database contains brief descriptions of activities but not raw data.
