Research Prioritization Workshops to be Held in the Gulf of Mexico Region MASGC, along with the Florida, Louisiana and Texas Sea Grant College Programs, are collaborating with federal, state, university, non-governmental and other agencies/organizations to identify research priorities for the Gulf of Mexico. Stakeholder workshops will be held in early 2008 in each of the five U.S. states bordering the Gulf to assist in the research prioritization process and will be co-facilitated by Sea Grant and NOAA’s Gulf Services Center. Workshop participants
will refine the results of a Gulf-wide research prioritization survey,
identify additional priorities not captured in the survey and determine
strategies to address
the most pressing needs. Anyone interested in Gulf of Mexico issues
is invited. Individuals
from private and public sectors who conduct, use or sponsor research
are especially encouraged to attend. Early registration is required
for workshop planning purposes. There is no fee to register.
