Sea Briefs Editor Leaves Post

Valerie Winn, who served as editor of Sea Briefs since 2003, recently resigned from her post at MASGC. During her years at Sea Grant, she was responsible for writing and editing Sea Briefs articles, working with a graphic artist to oversee design of the newsletter and organizing its print schedule. The publication earned a first-place newsletter award in 2006 from the College Public Relations Association of Mississippi.

A recent recipient of a literary arts fellowship from the Mississippi Arts Commission, she is pursuing works in the field of creative writing.“

Over the last five years Valerie Winn has taken our Sea Briefs newsletter to the next level in terms of the quality of the stories and the visual appeal of the layout,” MASGC Director LaDon Swann said. “As a result of Valerie’s commitment to excellence, I can proudly say that Sea Briefs is our flagship publication.”
