Upcoming Events
TV shows advise against gambling with nature

Coming soon is a series of 30-minute TV programs designed to help coast residents and visitors prepare for hurricane season. The programs, sponsored by MASGC and the NOAA Coastal Storms Program in collaboration with Grassroots, Inc., and WKRG-TV in Mobile, Ala., will air on WKRG in July and August.

The theme for the weather-awareness series is Gambling with Mother Nature and will have a viewing audience that stretches from Pensacola, Fla., to Gulfport, Miss. The first in the series, “Wind and Water,” will air on July 29 at 6:30 p.m. Coming in August are “Water Runs Down Hill” on Aug. 19 and “Storms and Insurance” on Aug. 26, both at 6:30 p.m.
