Hurricane expo kicks off season

Elihu Carranza of Ocean Springs, Miss., left, Jackson County community liaison for the American Red Cross, talks to residents about hurricane preparedness and volunteer opportunities during the Community Hurricane Preparedness Expo recently held at The University of Southern Mississippi Gulf Coast Research Lab. Experts were on hand at the expo to share information about storm surge modeling, crisis management, ham radio operation, church programs and weather data collection. MASGC helped sponsor the event.
