Nature guides become tourists for a day

John Dindo leads a tour groupJohn Dindo, assistant director of the Dauphin Island Sea Lab, talks with nature tour operators about local ecosystems on Weeks Bay in Alabama. A new Coastal Nature Guide Certification Program helps tour operators understand more about ecosystems and better set good examples of stewardship in the eyes of their thousands of customers. the program is offered through the Mississippi-Alabama Sea Grant Consortium and the Alabama Gulf Coast Convention and Visitors Bureau.
