Fink joins Office of Coast Survey in Mobile

Patrick Fink has joined the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) team serving in Mobile, Ala., as a navigation specialist in the Office of Coast Survey.

He will collaborate with local, state and non-profit agencies to serve NOAA constituents and coastal communities, resilience panels and climate committees. He will interact with the navigation and maritime industry (ports, pilots, deep draft, barge and tow industry) within the eastern Gulf of Mexico regarding the Office of Coast Survey’s charting, mapping and surveying missions and responsibilities. He also will partner with other NOAA services responding to program initiatives, customer emergencies and natural disasters.

Fink has a bachelor’s degree in history and environmental studies from Eckerd College and has worked with the Office of Coast Survey in Lafayette, La., serving the eastern Gulf of Mexico.

NOAA is the oldest science agency in the United States. The Coast and Geodetic Survey was formed by charter of President Thomas Jefferson in 1807. The present-day Office of Coast Survey, of which Fink is a member, continues to serve the nation in mapping and charting and the response to severe storms and hurricanes.

Fink’s office is located in the International Trade Center in downtown Mobile.
